Encoded Archival Standards (EAS) Suite

The Encoded Archival Standards (EAS) Suite includes the three standards EAD, EAC-CPF and EAC-F. They provide the different XML formats to use for giving the description of the answers to the Who, Why and What of records in XML.

• Who: EAC-CPF describes the creator
• Why: EAC-F describes the function or activity which results in a record being created
• What: EAD describes the records
