In this repository you can find the Tag Libraries for Encoded Archival Description Versions 3 and 4, Encoded Archival Context: Corporate Bodies, Persons, and Families Versions 2 and 3, and Encoded Archival Context: Functions Version 1
These three standards are developed and maintained by the Technical Subcommittee on Encoded Archival Standards (TS-EAS)
Introduction
The Encoded Archival Standards (EAS) Suite includes the three standards EAD, EAC-CPF and EAC-F. They provide the different XML formats to use for giving the description of the answers to the Who, Why and What of records in XML.
- Who: EAC-CPF describes the creator
- Why: EAC-F describes the function or activity which results in a record being created
- What: EAD describes the records
